Contemporary dance can be a free form of dance; however, it has techniques specific to the art form with clearly defined aesthetics. Learning the ‘release’ and ‘falling and catching’ techniques sets you up for a highly dynamic performance quality that will expand your concept of what dance is. Contemporary is one of Kirsty and Kester’s favourite dance style’s so they will draw upon their expertise in contemporary training and their professional careers in contemporary dance companies to evoke strength with feeling. Kirsty and Kester are influenced by leading contemporary masters such as Graham, Cunningham and Limon.
